Our first meeting was held at the Corvallis Public library. The main agenda item was deciding if we should become a 350.org group or a Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) group. First we reviewed both groups.
CCL is well organized and focused on passing carbon tax legislation. There are groups throughout the US and Canada and in Oregon there are currently groups in Portland and Eugene. They have monthly phone conferences and action plans.

350.org has groups internationally and for Oregon there only seems to be a group in Portland. They have several different campaigns and actions happening.

We decided to become a 350.org group because of the greater variety of campaigns and better name recognition. Many of us felt that the carbon tax is worth pursuing, so we will also be supporting CCL as well.
