Local Campaigns

Action at the local level is can be a great way to affect change.  Members of 350Corvallis are involved with several local actions.

Corvallis Climate Action Plan – the CAPTF (Climate Action Plan Task Force) started as a grassroots effort by several local organizations, including 350Corvallis, to get the city to adopt a Climate Action Plan (CAP).  The group was successful in getting the city council to make this one of their goals for the current council term.  An advisor was hired and the CAPTF is now an official city task force that has been meeting and drafting a plan.  Meetings are open to the public and there will be several community input sessions.  Check their webpage for the latest info on meeting times and agendas.

Take Charge Corvallis – 350Corvallis is an active supporter of this competition which is being spearheaded by Energize Corvallis. The competition is a challenge from Georgetown University to get cities to reduce their energy use.  Our liaison with this group is Kirk R. and he will help keep us informed on ways we can help their efforts.
