Corvallis Climate Action Plan – the CAPTF (Climate Action Plan Task Force) started as a grassroots effort by several local organizations, including 350Corvallis, to get the city to adopt a Climate Action Plan (CAP). The group was successful in getting the city council to make this one of their goals for the current council term. An advisor was hired and the CAPTF became an official city task force that drafted a plan. The city council voted to adopt the plan. The task force was retired in the summer of 2017, to make way for the next steps. The city council is working on what that will look like. Most likely an advisory board will be formed, which will hopefully include some staff support.
Now that the plan is in the implementation phase, 350Corvallis and other local groups have been asked for their help in implementation. We will be working on identifying a suitable action for us to help with and will be looking for volunteers to help in following through on our commitment.
